Dr. Jason L. Meriwether is an accomplished higher education leader and strategy consultant specializing in enrollment management, student affairs, and retention initiatives. With a career spanning over 20 years, Dr. Meriwether has led transformative programs at public and private universities, enhancing recruitment, student success, and graduation rates. He has extensive experience with NCAA and NAIA Athletics, TRIO programs, and executive leadership in enrollment management.
Dr. Meriwether is a recognized expert in hazing prevention, adult student success, digital learning tools, and social media engagement. He has published extensively and presented at numerous national and regional conferences on topics including student retention, strategic planning, professional development, and campus legal issues.

Dr. Meriwether has held executive leadership roles at institutions including Sam Houston University, Campbellsville University, Cal Poly Humboldt, Rhode Island College, Indiana University Southeast, and Fisk University.
He has led enrollment management, student affairs, academic support, and student engagement programs, implementing data-driven strategies that improved persistence and graduation rates while increasing enrollment.
He has served as an expert witness and consultant in hazing related lawsuits. His fiduciary experience includes managing multi-million-dollar budgets and serving on non-profit and higher education association boards, including InsideTrack and the Police Chief’s Advisory Board for Eureka, California.
Dr. Meriwether’s research interests include enrollment management, hazing prevention, student retention, digital learning, and adult student success. He is the editor of Dismantling Hazing in Greek-Letter Organizations: Effective Practices for Prevention, Response, and Campus Engagement and has contributed to numerous scholarly publications and professional blogs.
His work has informed policy and practice across student affairs, recruitment, and retention, and he continues to influence the field through research-informed presentations, consulting, and applied scholarship.
In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Meriwether has served as an expert witness in multiple hazing-related cases, providing insight grounded in research, policy, and campus practices to support institutional accountability and student safety.
Dr. Meriwether has taught graduate courses at the University of Louisville, New England College, and Lander University, and undergraduate courses at Fisk University and Georgia Southern University. Dr. Meriwether served as assistant professor at Campbellsville University. He also served as a guest lecturer at universities including Vanderbilt, The University of Maine, Louisiana State University, Penn State, Tennessee State University, Bellarmine University, and Eastern Illinois University.
He delivered keynote addresses and workshops at regional and national conferences on student retention, leadership, social media, and hazing prevention. Outside academia, Dr. Meriwether is a committed community volunteer and former youth coach, having overseen thousands of community service hours with student organizations.
